Betty Bardige

Betty Bardige, Ed. D., is a developmental psychologist, educator, child advocate, and author.  Dr. Bardige is Vice-President and the former Chair of the A. L. Mailman Family Foundation.  She is President of the Cambridge Community Foundation and serves on the Cambridge Kids' Council, the board of the National Association for Family Child Care and the advisory boards of Facing History and Ourselves, Teach with Movies, Educating Children for Parenting, and the Massachusetts Parent-Child Home Program. Dr. Bardige is a member of the United Way of Massachusetts Bay Healthy Child Development Impact Council and serves on the program committee of the Massachusetts Children's Trust Fund.  She is the author of At a Loss for Words: How America is Failing Our Children and What We Can Do About It, and co-author of Building Literacy with Love, Poems to Learn to Read By, All About Child Care and Early Education, and the forthcoming Caring for Infants and Toddlers in Groups.

Dr. Bardige holds an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and a Ed. D. from Harvard University.
