Marilyn M. Segal Marilyn Segal, Ph.D., a noted developmental psychologist, educator, and researcher specializing in early childhood education, is the Dean Emeritus of the Mailman Segal Institute for Early Childhood Studies at Nova Southeastern University. She was the founder of an award-winning Head Start preschool in Broward County, FL and the founder of the University School at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Segal has developed and implemented training programs for Head Start teachers, infant-toddler caregivers, family support workers, and CDA candidates. She has also created three comprehensive early childhood curricula and is the author or co-author of 16 books on early childhood development, including the popular Your Child at Play series. Dr. Segal has served on many boards and committees, including Zero To Three. She was the first Chair of the Foundation and continues to serve on the Board as Chair Emeritus. Dr. Segal holds an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. in behavioral change from Nova University.
