The Banyan Tree

The banyan tree reflects our philosophy of grantmaking and our family roots in South Florida. A subtropical native, the banyan tree symbolizes long life and sustainability. It sends down roots from its branches, which embed themselves in the soil and become supporting trunks. With these new sources of nourishment, the branches spread out in an ever-widening circle. Thus, over time, one tree becomes a forest, providing a natural playground for children and a gathering place for an entire village. As they develop their own roots, the projects the Foundation supports strengthen our mission and expand our vision.
